Week Three:  Happy Sandsgiving!

Here is what 8 hours of 20 grit and a U-Sand sander got me:

Much whiter now than they will be when finished.  Assuming all the pet stains come up, I am going with a resin-enhanced tung oil.  Should come out pretty red, based on what they look like wet.

Jerks don't felt their chairs, and then I am left to contend with this.  PS, folks, sanding is art in negative space.  To erase those marks, I have to take down everything around them. PPS, I have been one of those jerks so many times.

DEMOLITION MAN

Week 2: Demo

Back at work this week, so my productivity has dropped a bit on the house.  The wall continues to fade, though, and more of my stuff slowly makes its way to the master bedroom and the basement.

This week, I bought a sawzall:
Note at the top-right the old gas pipe I severed.

Note around 7 o'clock toward the middle, the wall-mounted electric heater. I had to disconnect wiring for that, the dining room light switch  (hard-wired "on" for now), and two electrical outlets.  All are capped and awaiting installation into boxes in the new setup.

This is how I dress now.

Testing out the new layout.  Imagine that board and microwave cart are level and are a counter.
